Me
Breath in. Breath out.
Pen in hand. And go.
The journey hasn't been a long one, but at times its dragged.
So I learnt to write. I learnt that writing was a safe space. It offered me a place to breath. It offered me a place to talk when I had no one to talk to. In my loneliest moments, in times of tears and isolation and being overwhelmed by silence it became a place where someone was listening, without judgement or criticism or with advice, it became a place of processing.
Lover of tattoos, piercings, being outside, brunch, airbnb get aways, and coffee.
There is nothing of significance about my life.
It’s simple, a bit broken, but I like it. It’s not how I imagined, but it’s not any less than I imagined. Just different.
Breath in. Breath out.
Keyboard in front of me. And go.
Learning forever,
Kate x

Her
This is her, this is the girl who teaches me patience. Who teaches me love. Who teaches me how to see the world in awe and wonder. She teaches me what it means to have fun and enjoy moments.
Alexis is twelve... going on twenty. The best age yet.
She is becoming increasingly independent - planning her own weekends (telling me where I'm playing uber diver to), working out her place and where she belongs in this world (aren't we all to a certain extent?)
Being her mum is the most beautifully orchestrated adventure of my life.
I thought I would lose myself becoming a mum, but I found myself.
We continually learn together.
She is my best friend.
I am her biggest fan.
She loves asking me for snapchat, doesn't love my answer.
Loves soccer and is wicked in goals.
Loves swearing and giving me the finger.
Adores her friends.
Hates housework.
Is a decent singer (don't tell her I said that)
Is more resilient than I will ever be.
Loves a decaf iced mocha from Maccas and placing Shien orders.
She is gentle and kind.
Loving and hilarious.
She is considerate of others.
And is sensitive in her nature.

Him
Fiving and thriving.
Our little powerhouse, snuggler, bear.
Known as Solomon, Sol-bear, and Solly.
Solomon was the gift that we didn't know we needed.
The expansion of our hearts in human form.
He is becoming his own and letting us know about it. The kid wears his heart on his sleeve (much like his sister and Me), and we always know his mood - happy, sad, mad, or sick - there's no guessing with this one.
In his first year of school, he loves counting, asking questions, telling us he's cool, letters, and just living his best five-year-old life (you know, the one where you're blissfully unaware that there's anything bad or stressful about the world?)
Always saying, "I love you."
This has extended to 'I love you, I love you so much, I love you a lot, I love you forever.'
He's our dancing king.
Every day is book week - he loves dressing up.
He does not love losing.
He always wants to bake, never wants to eat.
Forever on a journey of teaching him to respect, love, show kindness and understand using his privilege to impact the world.
One of my greatest honours is that I will forever be the first female he will love.
